Mrs Lynn, you’re not over 60!! I never imagined how eagerly I’d share my age with my high school students. Their response of disbelief is encouraging, especially on the days when I am feeling my age, or when I spy a new gray hair. I believe I’ve been blessed with good health and that it’s my responsibility to maintain my health as long as possible.

I recently participated in a photo shoot for women over 50. The opportunity to embrace my smile lines, love handles and gray highlights was an empowering experience. I am grateful to have photos of myself to share with my friends and family. The photos from the shoot show me embracing life, and expressing joy. That is a legacy I want to leave for my family.

My son gave me a necklace engraved with the quote “Learn from yesterday, Love for today, Hope for tomorrow! I live this philosophy, especially in regards to hope. Hope is the joyful, confident expectation of good. My hope is that others will be blessed by my photos, and will be encouraged to do the same for themselves.
