1. Who we are
Fabulous Shades of 50 is a signature portrait experience and editorial project by Marilyn Wilson Photography in Ohio. In this policy, “Fabulous Shades of 50,” “Marilyn,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the website and the people responsible for operating it.
2. Information we collect
We collect information you choose to provide when you communicate with us or use a website form.
Portrait inquiries
The portrait inquiry form may collect your name, email address, optional telephone number, preferred contact method, what inspired your inquiry, how you would like to feel in your portraits, timing information, how you heard about Marilyn, and your optional email-marketing preference.
Story submissions
The Share Your Story form may collect your name, email address, optional city and state, information about your current life chapter, the story you choose to share, lessons or reflections, how you would like to be identified, permission for Marilyn to contact you about a possible feature, and your optional email-marketing preference.
Communications
We may retain information you send by email, telephone, or through another direct communication so we can respond and maintain an appropriate record of the conversation.
Technical information
Our website hosting and form-processing providers may automatically receive limited technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device information, referring page, requested pages, and access times. This information may be used to deliver the website, prevent abuse, troubleshoot problems, and maintain security.
3. How we use information
We may use the information we collect to:
- Respond to portrait inquiries and consultation requests.
- Discuss availability, services, preparation, and the portrait experience.
- Review story submissions and contact a contributor about a possible feature.
- Send occasional inspiration, planning guidance, studio news, or opening announcements only when you have requested those messages.
- Operate, protect, maintain, and improve the website and its forms.
- Prevent spam, fraud, misuse, or security problems.
- Comply with legal obligations and protect legitimate business rights.
4. Stories, photographs, and publication permission
Submitting a story does not give us automatic permission to publish it. Marilyn will review the submission personally and contact you if it may be appropriate for a future feature. Nothing will be published without your final approval.
Photographs, quotations, names, and participant stories displayed on the website are used with permission or under a separate photography, model-release, publication, or contributor agreement. You may request a conversation about how your approved story is presented by contacting Marilyn.
5. Formspree and other service providers
Our inquiry and story forms are processed through Formspree. When you submit a form, the information is transmitted to and processed by Formspree so it can be delivered to Marilyn. Formspree may also receive technical information associated with the submission.
You may review Formspree’s Privacy Policy for information about its practices. Website-hosting, security, email, and other service providers may process information only as reasonably necessary to provide their services, protect the website, or comply with law.
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We do not share it with unrelated businesses for their independent marketing.
6. Optional email communication
Checking the optional email-consent box allows us to send occasional editorial inspiration, portrait guidance, studio updates, and first notice of openings. You may withdraw that permission at any time by using an unsubscribe link when available or emailing Marilyn. Declining marketing messages will not affect a portrait inquiry or story submission.
8. Retention and security
We retain personal information only as long as reasonably necessary to respond, provide requested services, evaluate a story submission, maintain business records, resolve disputes, protect the website, or meet legal obligations. Different information may be kept for different periods.
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect information in our care. No website, email, storage system, or internet transmission can be guaranteed completely secure, so please do not submit Social Security numbers, financial account information, medical records, passwords, or other highly sensitive information through our forms.
9. Your choices and privacy requests
You may ask to review, correct, or delete personal information you submitted, or withdraw a previous marketing preference. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request, and some information may be retained when required for legal, security, contractual, or legitimate recordkeeping purposes.
Send privacy requests to marilyn@marilynwilsonphotography.com with “Privacy Request” in the subject line.
10. Children’s privacy
This website is created for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information, contact Marilyn so it can be reviewed and deleted when appropriate.
11. External websites and social platforms
The website may eventually link to social-media platforms, galleries, scheduling services, or other external websites. Their privacy policies and terms apply when you visit them. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of services we do not control.
12. Changes and contact information
We may update this policy when our website, forms, service providers, or legal obligations change. The effective date at the top of the page will identify the most recent version.
